What is it really worth?

It has taken many long years, extreme dedication and a LARGE amount of taxpayer money to assemble this world-class mounted patrol unit.  We as local citizens have equity in this team that both represents us and protects us.  It has been estimated by other cities wanting to have a mounted patrol that it would cost 2 million dollars to achieve what we already have.  San Diego's purchase of specially bred horses, some from as far as Canada, and the years of extensive training to do what they do so well cannot be recouped through a hasty auction.  We need to preserve this amazing asset of our City!
